A sigh of relief for all those Motorola lovers who are in dilemma after the launch of Ice Cream Sandwich Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Motorolla Droid Razr

Motorolla officially unveiled that the thinnest mobile in the market Droid Razr loaded with incredible specifications and runs on Gingerbread will be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at the start of 2012.

This will be the New Year gift for all Motorolla fans.  This was announced on the exact same day when the Google’s newest firmware-Ice Cream Sandwich was announced on the Galaxy Nexus.

According to a report by Pocket-Lint, Alain Mutricy, Senior Vice President of Portfolio and Product Management at Motorola, while introducing the Droid Razr, spoke candidly to journalists in Berlin about ICS. Mutricy said that although the Droid Razr was designed for and will be launched running on Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread, the company has a plan to update the smartphone to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at the start of 2012.

He emphasized that while making the move from Gingerbread to ICS, the move would integrate all of the innovation that has gone into the Droid Razr and a precise date would be provided in the future.

As of now, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is and will remain the only handset to feature this Android update.
