British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph is all geared up to hit the Indian roads in 2012. Triumph will be facing stiff competition from its competitor like Ducati Kawasaki Honda and specially from Harley-Davidson.

India is now the world's second largest two-wheeler market and the premium segment is all set to hot-up even further.Triumph will start their journey in Indian market with around eight models. Initially all these models will belong to the 800cc+ category. This being for a simple reason that bikes in this category are not required to go through complex homologation process. Triumph's entire range includes bikes from roadster, supersport, touring, adventure and cruiser category. These bikes are known for their styling and performance. Bikes like Tiger 1050, Daytona, Speedmaster and yes, the world's largest production bike Rocket III complete the company's lineup. The Rocket III sports runs on a 2.3 litre engine which offers more displacement than the engine of many cars available in India.
The company will be importing these bikes into India but at the same time it is conducting feasibility studies for assembling these bikes in India which in turn will lead to cost reduction. Company's top management believes that India is a very important chapter in its global business model. The company hopes to make a mark when it enters the Indian market.
