However, the company said that it will (officially) announce the availability of the Xperia U handset sometime this month.
The Xperia U was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2012, and Sony announced the launch of the Xperia U handset in India last month.

Sony's Xperia U has a 3.5 inch scratch-resistant TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The Xperia U runs Google's Android 2.3 operating system (upgrade to Android 4, Ice Cream Sandwich), and is powered by a 1 GHz STE U8500 dual-core processor.

The phone has a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus, 16x digital zoom and LED flash. It has 512 MB RAM.
