A cutting edge girl band duo, from Pakistan credited with creating a new cannon of jazz-influenced numbers influenced by classical music of the Indian subcontinent, features at the fifth edition of the annual South Asian Bands Festival here.

The three-day music festival scheduled to commence at the Purana Qila here held from December 2 will include fifteen popular rock bands from across nine countries in the subcontinent.

The event is presented by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in collaboration with Ministry of External Affairs and Seher.

"Zeb  and Haniya, in fact, are slated to interact with nearly 100 students of some select schools and colleges of Delhi on the first day of the festival to discuss cultural relations between the two countries," say organisers.

Cutting edge and commercially successful, the musicians write their own songs and also rework existing melodies of Afghanistan,Pakistan, and India. The duo's debut album, Chup (Hush) was greeted very well in Pakistan.PTI
