Schedule- यूपी इलेक्शन के लिये इलेक्शन कमीशन आफ इंडिया को काफी मशक्कत करनी पड़ रही है. बाकी स्टेट्स की तरह यहां इलेक्शन एक चरण में नहीं बल्कि सात चरणों में कम्प्लीट होंगे.
Seven phasesFirst Phase UP Elections के पहले फेज में 55 विधानसभा क्षेत्रों को रखा गया है. इनमें 10 से भी ज्यादा जिले शामिल हैं. Sitapur, Gonda, Basti, Bahraich, Balrampur Barabanki, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Siddharth Nagar and Shravasti में पहले चरण का मतदान 8 फरवरी को होगा. BSP की सबसे ज्यादा 55 में से 30 सीटें इसी क्षेत्र से हैं. इस फेज में लगभग 15 एक्स मिनिस्टर्स, 2 प्रेजेंट मिनिस्टर्स और 21 एमएलए का भाग्य तय होगा. Election & Corruption: यूपी इलेक्शन में करप्शन एक बड़ा मुद्दा बन सकता है. प्रेजेन्ट गवर्नमेंट में 403 MLAs में से 143 के खिलाफ क्रिमिनल केसेज दर्ज हैं. इसी तरह केंद्र सरकार पर भी करप्शन के कई दाग लग चुके हैं. MGNREGA से लेकर हाथी और मूर्तियां बनवाने के मुद्दे भी इस बार खूब चर्चा में हैं. बीजेपी पर भी करप्ट लोगों को शह देने का आरोप लगा है. अन्ना हजारे और स्वामी रामदेव के आन्दोलनों के बाद यह माना जा रहा है कि करप्शन इस बार एक बड़ा मुद्दा होगा. a. Samajwadi party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav also has a case pending against him in a similiar case.बड़े लोग बड़े नामयूपी को देश की पालिटिक्स का गढ़ बताया जाता रहा है. गांधी परिवार के Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Varun Gandhi और Maneka Gandhi का गढ़ यूपी ही है. प्रधानमंत्री Indira Gandhi और Atal Behari Vajpayee भी इसी स्टेट से चुन कर आए थे.
